Types of Repotters
Lost your job, or your motivation and just want to make a change? Repotting: 10 Steps for Redesigning Your Life has valuable information and advice for men and women going through any major life transition. Here are some categories of “repotters,” people who typically benefit from the repotting process.
Change Point Repotter: People who are facing an interruption in the status quo–an event in their lives has motivated them to create a new strategy to deal with this transformation in their life circumstances. “Change-points” may include losing a job, having children, getting divorced, contracting an illness, inheriting some money, or reaching a milestone.
On the Verge Repotter: Some men and women are in a quandary. They have a feeling that things are not quite right, but they don’t have the tools to create a new landscape plan.
Core Repotter: The main goal for these repotters is finding their authentic selves by following their passion. Women and men may strip away years of activities that clutter their landscape in order to get back in touch with the essence of who they are or want to be. It may mean going to back to a passion of their youth or uncovering an interest not yet embraced.
Values Repotter: These women and men are reassessing their lives in the context of changing priorities and values. Financial constraints may come to the fore in place of lifestyle preferences, family concerns may supplant career goals as the primary focus; or health issues may take preference, among other things.
Serial Repotter: For these women and men, their life landscape is constantly evolving and changing as new opportunities present themselves. Their fearless outlook has allowed them to envision and pursue multiple lives.
